It was a year ago that I announced the plan to update the site.  I don’t know where the time went but it sure did go fast.

One of the main roadblocks I was supposed to run into was upgrading the site template. The site template was only supposed to be compatible up to WordPress 2.3 so when WordPress upgraded to 2.7 I decided to leave everything as is. Afterall, the template developer indicated the template would “break” and no longer work on newer version of WordPress.

So, over the next couple of years, WordPress continued to be updated and improved while I kept everything the same on my site for fear the site would no longer work properly if I upgraded. And, there were a couple of plugins I was using that were also supposed to stop working if I upgraded my WordPress installation.

In order to ensure minimal down time on the site, I needed to have the remake all planned out ahead of time.

The process included finding a new template, modifying the color scheme a little, creating a new logo, finding new plugins and editing all of the links, content and images on the site.

Once I had everything organized it was time to put the site in maintenance mode and begin the rebuilding.

The first step was to upgrade to the latest version of WordPress. And guess what happened to my site when I did that?

Absolutely nothing!

The theme worked, plugins worked, pages and links also worked.

Ok, that made everything a whole lot easier!

It only took a couple of days to get everything up and running.

I hope you like the new look and layout. It’s designed to have a more modern look, be easier to read, and easier to navigate.

Now that everything is up and running well so far, I can get back to giving you the internet marketing tips, training, product reviews and information to help build your online business!
